Credits and Usage

SenseOn uses a credit-based model to measure and report on platform consumption. Credits represent the volume of security telemetry, cases, and API queries processed by the platform on your behalf. This article explains how to read your usage data and what to do if you approach or exceed your allocation.

Viewing Your Credit Usage

Navigate to Settings > Credits to see your organisation's current credit position.

Daily Usage Summary

The daily summary shows:

  • Credits used today — the number of credits consumed so far in the current billing day
  • Daily limit — your organisation's allocated daily credit ceiling
  • Forecast — a projected daily total based on the consumption rate so far in the day

If the forecast exceeds your daily limit, SenseOn will display a warning. Contact your customer success representative if you anticipate sustained overage.

Monthly Report

The monthly report provides a breakdown of credit consumption across the billing month:

  • Total credits used per day, displayed as a time-series chart
  • Overage days — days on which consumption exceeded the daily limit
  • Billable overage — credits consumed above the limit that will appear on your invoice

Relief days

Your contract may include a number of relief days — days in a billing month on which overage is not charged. Relief days are applied automatically to the highest-overage days in the month. The monthly report shows which days have been designated as relief days and what the effective billable overage is after relief has been applied.

What Consumes Credits

Credit consumption is driven by:

  • Volume of telemetry events received from Universal Sensor endpoints and network probes
  • Volume of log ingestion data from third-party sources
  • API query volume (Hunt Lab, Experience, and SenseOn Connect API calls)

Increasing the number of enrolled devices, enabling log ingestion for high-volume sources, or running frequent Hunt Lab queries will increase credit consumption.

Managing Consumption

If you are consistently approaching your limit:

  • Review your log ingestion configuration and consider filtering high-volume, low-value sources. See Log Ingestion for guidance.
  • Discuss increasing your credit allocation with your SenseOn account manager.
